I write character-driven dramas set in the industrial midwest, stories of dysfunctional families, communities in peril, and the rituals and systems that shape us. I'm drawn to haunted places, buried histories, and people fighting for survival, as the world violently changes around them.
A Storyteller from the Heart-land....Man!
I was born in Western PA, and grew up in Northwest Indiana. I've worked in fab-shops, steel mills, and refineries. I've tended bar in local dives, and underground after hour nightclubs. I played a little football and wrestled at Wabash College. I've been a teacher, football and wrestling coach. It's from these spaces that I've collected stories of the folk. The aspirations, tragedies, and hard faught victories of working people.
The American small towns build their myths and enforce their codes. My stories live in that territory alongside the bigger forces shaping the heartland today: land grabs and erasure, politics, faith, superstition, and folklore. The machines are both literal and metaphorical: football programs, mills, data centers, AI systems, political apparati, the machinery of progress, the machinery of ignorance.
I write characters who define themselves by labor, loyalty, and stubborn integrity, placed inside communities on the edge, families fractured by secrets, generational trauma, and ruptured institutions. I write from lived experience.
Whether it's a legendary coach confronting the legeacy he built to survive, teenage girls demanding space on a mat, or a martial arts con man building an counter culture empire, the gameplan never changes, common folks forced to become extrordinary by fate, My stories celebrate those that refuse to give up on a Dream in hopes that it may inspire you to do the same.
“I love the spectacle of conflict, the heat of battle, and underdogs who won't stay down. Every story I write is an attempt to move the audience emotionally, so the themes can be felt.
