Building Stories, Spaces & Experiences

I’m Tyler Lennox Bush, a writer, producer, creative director, and educator based in the Greater Chicago area. At Purdue University Northwest, I teach visual communication and design, computer graphic technology, arts integration, and media production through hands-on, project-based learning. At TwointheBush Television Co., I develop episodic television.

My professional career spans more than 25 years across commercial production, scenic fabrication, construction management, brand design, live broadcast television, and industrial 3D scanning, including work with Curious Pictures, Atlantic Theater Company, Chicago Scenic Studios, PBS, The Gary Southshore Railcats, and US Steel. I bring practical experience and committment to every project challenge.

Featured puppet / THE Imposters of Unevercity

Dr. Blaze Glitch is the protagonist of The Imposters. A story inspired by my struggles as a laborer in High Education. A 3D-rendered and printed puppet built with analog logic: a sculpted clay mask, copper goggles, a weathered lab coat, and a ball-and-socket armature underneath with rigging points.

Formal training in Fine Arts and Stagecraft while competing as as an NCAA Academic All American Wrestler and Division III football player. Graduating Magna Cum laude. A GLCA Arts Program Fellow completed arts immersion in New York City.

Scenic Artist, & Set Carpenter for Chicago Scenic Studios, Curious Pictures, Radio City Music Hall, the Atlantic Theater Company, Acting training at the Atlantic, Second City, Stella Adler and the Actors Center NYC.

Day Jobs

Carpentry, and Construction Management. 3D scanning with Scan-to-BIM for US Steel, Cleveland Cliffs, and Steel Dynamics. Construction sites, residential and commercial, hsopitality and nightlife venues, heavy industry, mills, refineries.

Study

DePaul, School of Cinema

MFA in Cinema Production and Writing for Media under Scott Meyer, who unlocked my understanding of character driven story. Raking Prophet's Rock was originally my thesis project in the program.

Now

Purdue University Northwest

An interdisciplinary Continuing Lecturer across 3 colleges. Roughly 240 students a year in visual communication design, media production, brand management, and arts integration.

A Media Folk-teller

An American regionalist Folkteller, creating unique stories of place. Championing location-based production so film and TV honor where they are made and support the producers who live there.
